The latest edition of Italy’s national book drive (#ioleggoperché) took place from 21-29 November 2020. (#ioleggoperché is an initiative of the Italian Book Publishers’ Association aimed at expanding and enriching elementary and high-school libraries.)
Although the rapid spread of the coronavirus continues to make a profound impact on society, reducing freedom of movement and business activities especially in some high-risk regions, many people happy to make a contribution to #ioleggoperché arrived punctually on 21 November in the numerous bookstores throughout Italy promoting this initiative.
In fact, more than ten thousand schools and over two thousand book shops (both secular and religious) participate in this annual event, including almost all our Pauline Book and Media Centers. For nine days, our apostolic Centers warmly welcomed all the customers eager to buy a book to donate to the schools «twinned» with their particular Centers.
