On November 24th, a square dedicated to Blessed James Alberione, founder of the Pauline Family, was inaugurated in Chieti Scalo. Bishop Bruno Forte, Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto, city authorities, representatives of the Pauline Family, and numerous faithful attended the ceremony.

The celebration took place in the square of Most Holy Crucifix Church. The statue of Blessed Alberione is enhanced in white Maiella stone, created by the sculptor Armando Di Nunzio. This work depicts Blessed James Alberione holding a book, a symbol of communication and evangelization. His other hand is shaped in the form of a heart resting on his chest, expressing his life of love and self-giving.

The initiative, strongly supported by the Pauline Cooperators of Abruzzo, represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream and a concrete sign of gratitude to a figure who successfully combined faith and modernity, understanding the importance of the media as a tool for proclaiming the Word.

The mayor of Chieti, Diego Ferrara, emphasized how this urban space can become a place of encounter and reflection, capable of “reviving a spirituality and a sense of solidarity and subsidiarity in society and among all people.”
