The AIE (Italian Publishers Association) initiative took place from November 7 to 16, 2025 with the intent to restock school libraries. This is the tenth year that, #ioleggoperché—the largest reading promotion initiative nationwide—has enabled school libraries to receive millions of donated copies of books.
This year’s initiative involved approximately thirty thousand schools (over four million students) and more than four thousand bookstores. Among these, nearly all the Paoline Bookshops, for ten days, welcomed those wishing to purchase a book to donate to their “twinned” schools at all levels.
#ioleggoperché is a project developed by the Italian Publishers Association, with the support of the Ministry of Culture (through the Center for Books and Reading) and the collaboration of the Ministry of Education and Merit.
