After a 3-year suspension due to extensive construction work in the FSP Bandra compound, the Book and Audiovisual Festival organized by our sisters of Mumbai began on 28 November 2014. The long-awaited event is now back in full swing but the venue was shifted to the province’s new multi-purpose hall, in which hundreds of titles were on display and readily accessible to the public.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Alice Baretto, chief guest speaker at the relaunching of the event and a voracious reader herself, said that reading does not merely give us information but increases our knowledge, opens our eyes to the realities that surround us and enables us to face the challenges of life. Sr. Clare Ukken, provincial superior, expressed her gratitude to God for all the blessings received, in particular the opportunity to now hold this annual event in the circumscription’s new multi-purpose hall.
The 10-day Festival, which opened with the presentation of six new publications and two new DVDs, was well conducted by our sisters and their cooperators.
