This is the title of a book published by the Daughters of St. Paul of South Korea as a pledge to help reduce carbon emissions by donating a portion of the book’s revenues to the planting of trees. And this pledge was fulfilled. Our sisters collaborated with the Ecology and Environment Committee of Suwon Diocese to organize a project called “Trees, Please” to enrich the city’s green spaces.

The event opened with a Eucharistic celebration attended by over 100 adults, children and families. After the Liturgy, the group planted more than 300 trees around Onoung Shrine, consecrated as a Youth Shrine. The planting activity, by the children in particular, served as a beacon of hope for the future, because it was a small step of ecological conversion for the participants, their families and generations to come. The joy with which the girls and boys planted each tree was an inspiration to everyone present. In the spirit of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, our sisters say they will continue to work tirelessly for ecological conversion.
