On Friday, 4 March, in the John Paul II Hall of the Vatican Press Office, Archbishop Nikola Eterovic, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, presented the “Lineamenta” for the 13th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, to be held in Vatican City from 7-28 October 2012.
The theme of the Synod is: “The New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith”-a very timely and important topic in view of the religious situation of today’s world. Pope Benedict XVI himself emphasized the urgent need for a new evangelization, above all in countries with a long history of Christianity.
