The Daughters of St. Paul of Nairobi have published a Swahili Lectionary–a work of great significance for the Catholic Church of Kenya and other nations that use the same language.

The Lectionary uses the text of the Biblia ya Kiafrika, published by our sisters of Nairobi with the approval of the Kenya Bishops’ Conference and the Decree of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

The three-volume set consists of the liturgical texts for Sundays, Weekdays, the Propers of the Saints, Commons and other Masses. The dream of producing this Lectionary–the fruit of years of work and collaboration between the Liturgical Commission of the Bishops’ Conference of Kenya and the FSP editorial team coordinated by Fr. Rinaldo Ronzani, mccj–was fulfilled thanks to the vision and commitment of the Daughters of St. Paul and the financial help of many benefactors. From Nairobi, our sisters write: “We feel honoured to make this contribution to the Church of Africa and we are deeply grateful to all our collaborators, benefactors, technicians and printers.”
