With immense joy we received the news that on 9 December 2013 Pope Francis, in an audience with Cardinal Angelo Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints, authorized the promulgation of the Decree regarding the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Orsola Maria Rivata (in religion, Sr. Maria Scholastica of Divine Providence: 1897-1987), an Italian sister who was the first Superior General of the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master. With the promulgation of this Decree, Sr. Scholastica now bears the title of “Venerable.”

We thank and praise the Divine Master for this great gift.
