Safer Internet Day, the World Day for Safer Online use, promoted by the European Commission, was celebrated on February 10th. The initiative aims not only to raise public awareness but also to promote the adoption of concrete measures to protect and empower children and young people in the digital environment.

This year’s event focused on the continual close relationship between children, adolescents, and digital technologies: from the use of social media networks to the use of artificial intelligence, with particular attention to mental health, education, and platform regulation.

Each year, the Safer Internet Day pulls together the commitment of the many stakeholders involved in creating a safer and better-quality digital environment for young users. These include policymakers, industry representatives, organizations, educators, parents, and young people themselves.
