The Daughters of St. Paul of Nairobi have published the English translation of the New Roman Missal for the Church in Africa. Identical in appearance to the Latin text, the Missal for Africa is enriched with the saints of that continent. This exceptional publishing initiative was offered to Pope Benedict XVI during his recent apostolic visit to Benin, where he presented all Christians with his post-synodal apostolic exhortation, Africae Munus. Together with the whole African Church, the FSPs welcomed with joy and hope the words of the Holy Father: “Africa’s commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ is a precious treasure which I entrust [to everyone] at the beginning of this third millennium…. Through this mission, Africa is led to explore its Christian vocation more deeply; it is called, in the name of Jesus, to live reconciliation between individuals and communities and to promote peace and justice in truth for all.”
