Taking as a starting point the election of our new Pope and the irreplaceable role of each Christian in today’s world, on 6 April the Daughters of St. Paul of Johannesburg organized a conference and discussion on the theme: Our Role in the Church and in Today’s World.
Their guest speaker, Fr. Michael Van Heerden, president of the Catholic University of Johannesburg, presented the theme from a broad perspective, touching on various aspects of mission, such as: witness, proclamation, reconciliation, dialogue, the liturgy of life, contemplation and prayer.
Thanks to his competence, the participants took an active part in the subsequent discussion, which afforded everyone the opportunity to delve more deeply into several key points of the conference.
