This June, our Italian circumscription will open a second Book and Media Center in Palermo, located on Via Notarbartolo. Matured in reflection and discernment over a long span of time, this decision has now been taken and is a sign of the faith and charismatic thrust of the Institute, which insistently urges us to communicate God’s saving Word.
In these last years, the FSP Palermo Book and Media Center on Vittorio Emanuele Blvd. has suffered a drop in clients because the Center has become harder to reach as a result of new zoning laws. This Center will remain open and will continue its service, hopefully reinforced by the new book center, which is located in a part of the city with a high number of families, schools, businesses, parishes and religious institutes. The religious and lay staff of the new Center will be organizing events for cultural groups and associations, in the hope of offering the diocese a more incisive service of evangelization. Our sister have just one desire: to contribute to the human, spiritual and cultural growth of the people by making the Gospel readily available to them and by channeling all their energies into the spheres of culture, formation and education.
We rejoice in this new Pauline presence in the city and place the new Center in the hands of our Divine Master, Fr. Alberione and Maestra Thecla, uniting ourselves to our sisters in this new venture with deep affection and abundant prayers.
