As a part of the festivities celebrating the anniversary of the foundation of La Paz, the city council awarded the Daughters of St. Paul the Pedro Domingo Murillo Prize in recognition of the important mission our Institute has carried out in the city ever since it opened a community and book center there 50 years ago.

Particular praise was given to the service carried out by the Libreria Paulinas, which was acclaimed as a center of culture and evangelization. The prize is conferred in memory of Pedro Domingo Murillo, a native of La Paz who is considered to be the precursor of Bolivian independence.

This public acknowledgment of the significance of the Pauline mission was a great joy to our entire Peru-Bolivia Delegation, in particular Sr. Maria Paz, our first Bolivian FSP. All the sisters were deeply moved by the gratitude and appreciation of the people who attended this event.
