The FSPs of our Spanish Delegation recently gathered for a meeting centered on the figure of Maestra Thecla. Sr. Anna Maria Parenzan, fsp, guided the encounter, whose purpose was to help the participants come to a more profound grasp of the most striking and incisive features of this apostle of our times. Sr. Anna Maria’s input opened the sisters to new horizons with regared to Maestra Thecla’s daily life as a Pauline from the spiritual, communitarian and missionary perspectives.

The subsequent sharing of ideas in small groups enabled the members of the delegation to trace out several concrete lines of action for their communities, taking as their starting point Prima Maestra’s holiness:

“Maestra Thecla’s life reminds us of the importance
of spiritual work, of the interior life and of union with God.
It urges us to look at things positively,
to speak kindly, to build communion,
to be one in mind and heart,
to strive to get to know one another better,
to forgive one another and to treat one another benevolently.
It teaches us to be concerned about one another,
to make the effort to meet one another’s needs
and to avoid negative thoughts and speech.
Doing this will enable us to accept our diverse personalities,
cultures sand potentials with a big heart.”
