More than 200 people participated in the Dominican Republic’s Third International Congress on the Word of God, organized by the Daughters of St. Paul and the Multimedia Word Society, in collaboration with the Archbishopric of Santiago de los Caballeros.
This important ecclesial moment, which centered on the theme, The Word is close to you (Rm. 10:8), was incorporated into the local Biblical Mission and lived in a spirit of deep communion. Illuminated by the talks of several biblical scholars, the participants were able to reflect more deeply on the binomial discipleship-mission as the identity of the followers of Christ. Prayer, joy and gratitude distinguished the atmosphere of the encounter, and the support of the Multimedia Word Society and the Archbishop of Santiago de los Caballeros contributed to its success.
The event gave the FSPs the chance to collaborate in the biblical formation of pastoral workers. A significant moment on the agenda was the performance of the music group Christ 911, which lent a festive note to the Congress. It is important to open new paths to the Word of God, so that it may race ahead and conquer hearts, especially those in greatest need of guidance and light.
