Prague: The European Media Summit

The 96th General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organization that brings together 113 public broadcasters from 56 countries, was held in Prague from June 24th to the 26th.

The meeting, hosted at the Cubex Center, focused on the challenges posted by Artificial Intelligence, the international geopolitical context, and the future of public service information in Europe. The topics discussed included the impact of global crises on the media, the balance between digital innovation, the quality of information, and the role of public media in fostering informed choices by citizens and policymakers.

The General Assembly is the EBU’s highest governing body and is responsible for defining the Union’s strategy, approving its budget, and adopting key decisions to achieve its objectives.
