The Daughters of St. Paul of Antananarive joined forces with the NGO Madagasikara Namako in holding a Book Fair for Children to celebrate the success of Boky Namako editions, a series of stories for children from all parts of the country.

Professionals from the publishing world participated in the Fair, including our Md Paoly book center, which hosted the event, Tpflm and Ambozontany editions, Malagasy authors, local illustrators and local designers of children’s books. The main purpose of the Fair was to awaken children to a love for reading and help them draw on the culture of their native land through their mother tongue. To achieve this, the agenda of the Fair included times of animation, story-telling and musical performances, in which students from some of the city’s elementary schools participated. The children were also given the chance to express themselves through painting–an activity they welcomed with enthusiasm and in which they exhibited great creativity. The Book Fair was preceded by a press conference held at the FSP locale in Analakely.
