On Saturday, May 10, members of the Pauline Family active in the city of Palermo organized a Night of Listening along Via Maqueda, one of the busiest streets in the historic center. The goal was to meet young people and passersby on a typical Saturday night in the city. The “night crowd” was offered the chance to hear a different kind of music—something far from the excesses of the usual nightlife scene. A group of Annunciationists, some young people with guitars, and members of the Holy Family community filled the surrounding streets with religious songs, inviting people to enter the Church of St. Joseph for a special encounter.
On the church steps, a Daughter of St. Paul and a member of the Holy Family Institute welcomed those passing by with a small candle and invited them to draw a Scripture passage at random. The vigil included three meaningful moments: Eucharistic adoration, a reflection on the Gospel, and the sharing of a message from the Pope. Seminarians, members of religious communities, and many laypeople took part in the vigil, making it a powerful evening of proclamation, listening, and encounter.
