On 8 December 2013, the Daughters of St. Paul celebrated the 20th anniversary of their arrival in Prague and the beginning of the Pauline mission in the Czech Republic. This foundation was the fruit of the Congregation’s Missionary Project in the wake of an invitation by Cardinal Miloslav Vlk. In fact, it was the Cardinal himself who celebrated the thanksgiving Liturgy, which was broadcast on the local Catholic TV station.

Sr. Cristina Zara came from Rome for the occasion and also present was Sr. Rosanna Pennasilico–both “co-foundresses” of the community. The Pious Disciples from Brno and many friends of the FSPs also participated in the Eucharistic Celebration and festivities.

In his homily, Cardinal Vlk repeatedly underscored the timeliness of the Pauline charism, urging the faithful to compare current Church teachings with the thought of Fr. Alberione.

During the Offertory procession, the sisters brought to the altar several of their publications, the fruit of their apostolic activities over the past 20 years. The celebration of this anniversary gave the FSPs of Prague the chance to offer a communitarian thanks to the Lord, whose provident hand has guided and continues to guide every step of their journey.
