Two thousand young people gathered at Auschwitz, Poland from 20-23 September 2012 to say no to violence. The occasion for the turnout was the Third International Meeting of Young Europeans for a World without Violence.

The young people, who came from Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, listened to testimonies from people who had suffered at the hands of the Nazis. The meeting ended with a Eucharistic Celebration at the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. Afterward an appeal for a world without violence was proclaimed in various languages.
