In 2018 the Daughters of St. Paul of Angola launched a course entitled The Bible in Community so as to offer the laity systematic formation on the Bible. Guided by the FSP Biblical Animation Service of our Brazilian Province, the purpose of the initiative is to help people get to know the Word of God and use it in their pastoral services. The course is divided into three stages: An Overview of the Bible, Biblical Theology and The Bible as Literature.

At the opening of the Year of the Word of God, two groups of participants concluded the first stage of this itinerary.

One group, N´datalando–Kwanza Norte, was made up of seminarians, students from various Congregations, consecrated persons and some catechists, for a total of 69 participants.

The other group, Luanda, was composed of 80 students from 15 parishes in the Archdiocese of Luanda.

At the conclusion of the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Adelino Soares, Secretary of the Commission for Biblical Pastoral Care of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé, the members of both groups were presented with certificates of participation.

Our sisters hope that every student will be able to continue his or her journey of study, sharing and proclamation of the Scriptures in this new year, so as to make the Bible ever more present in the pastoral care of the Church and in the hearts of the faithful.
