“World Youth Day in Krakow will be a real Jubilee for young people worldwide,” writes Cardinal Stanislaus Rylko, president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, in a message that looks ahead to the upcoming event, which will be celebrated in Krakow 2016. It will be the second WYD held in Poland (the first was at Czestochowa in 1991).

In Krakow, the Cardinal underscores, “the young people will be asked to reflect on the theme of mercy as an ideal of life and as a criterion for the credibility of our faith.” From Krakow, he adds, “a message filled with hope and with the merciful love of God for every person on earth will spread throughout the world.”
