After last year’s success, the second edition of the Voices of Faith storytelling event was held in the heart of the Vatican on 8 March 2015, International Women’s Day. The event brought together talented Catholic women from around the globe to share their inspiring experiences in reaching out to the world’s poor and marginalized.

With great skill and firm faith, these extraordinary women recounted their stories, allowing everyone to glimpse the feminine contribution to the Church’s work of accompanying the poor, upholding human dignity and promoting equality. Among the guest speakers were human rights advocates, policy makers, academics and visionaries–many of whom have faced adversity and seemingly insurmountable challenges in carrying out their work.

As part of the event, the “Women Sowers of Development” prize was awarded by Caritas International and Voices of Faith in recognition of projects that highlight women’s contribution to guaranteeing food and improving the conditions of life in families and communities.
