Twigis (as the Tweegee platform is called in Italy), a social network for children ages 6-12, was born in Israel and already has 4 million users worldwide. It is a protected place in which the youngest members of society can interact among themselves.

Subscribers can play games such as making animated cartoons that can then be shared with one another; they can read carefully selected news, engage in supervised chats and participate in forums on suitable subjects.

Today, many children learn through the Internet. It is necessary, however, that they move around in an environment designed for them. On Twigis, all activities and posts are consistently monitored and any discussions or messages are subject to approval before being published so as to protect children from inappropriate content.

For Twigis, the safety of its young users is crucial, even more so in the light of today’s most recent data: Audiweb says that in 2012 more than 2 million children were connected to the Internet. And according to a research carried out by uKnowKids, 38% of children under the age of 13 have a Facebook profile and 55% of teenagers provide personal data online without asking too many questions.
