The Bible in Romanian

A new edition of the Bible in Romanian, commissioned by the Local Church and translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts, was recently presented to the public in an encounter held in the city of Ilasi.

It was a very important and long-awaited moment for the entire Catholic community of Romania because up to now the only translations of the Bible in the local language were those done by the Orthodox Church and various Protestants groups, all of which had problems regarding style and semantics.
