Silence and Word: Path of Evangelization

The Daughters of St. Paul of Pakistan celebrated the 46th World Communications Day with creativity and zeal by conducting two media workshops on the theme of Pope Benedict XVI’s Message for that event.

The encounters, which were held in Dar-Ul-Naim (a Franciscan formation house), were formative in scope and helped to integrate the Pope’s message into the context of the consecrated life. Forty religious participated in the first workshop and 80 in the second. Sr. Maggie, the main speaker, underscored the importance of a correct balance between silence and word. Silence is an integral element of communication, she said, because it creates space for dialogue and intimate communion with God, “recharges” us to share his Word with others in a credible way, and enables us to establish deeper and more positive relationships with our neighbor.

Our sisters also joyfully inform us that in the light of the Pope’s teaching for WCD, on 26 May, Feast of the Queen of Apostles, they will launch a humble but meaningful presence online (www.paulines.com.pk) through which they hope to blaze new trails for evangelization.
