More than 300 Catholic communicators from all over the world, including 5 Daughters of St. Paul, gathered in Rome from 25 February–1 March to participate in the SIGNIS World Congress 2014.

The theme of the event, Media for a Culture of Peace: Creating Images with the New Generation, underscores the Association’s commitment to working with and encouraging young people to create positive and powerful images that will express their hopes for a global culture of peace.

SIGNIS, a Catholic Association of media professionals, came into being in 2001 as a result of the fusion OCIC and UNDA–two historic associations in the world of international Catholic communications. For decades the two Associations, both born in 1928, were fundamental reference points for the cinema and radio/television respectively.

Today SIGNIS is particularly significant in the world of cinema through the organization of congresses, seminars and workshops in all parts of the world. It also supplies a panel of judges for the principal international cinema festivals.
