The 14th International Festival of Sacred Music and Art, dedicated this year to the memory of St. John Paul II on the 10th anniversary of his death, will be held in Rome from 28 October – 4 November 2015.

The calendar of events, which includes performances on the part of about 600 bands, choirs and soloists throughout the week, will open on 28 October with a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica that is expected to draw music lovers from all over the world. Like every year, St. Peter’s and the other papal basilicas will host a series of concerts open to the public. As Hans Albert Courtial, president of the Pro Musica e Arte Sacra Foundation, said: “Through sacred music, we seek to bring people to the Lord.

We hope that the beautiful music they hear in such awesome surroundings will also make them more sensitive to these beautiful churches, raising awareness of them and prompting the public to remember that even these churches are restored.” Faith, art and beauty are the essence of this festival and everyone is delighted that this year it honors St. John Paul II and is inspired by the values of dialogue, peace and love.
