The Daughters of St. Paul and their Cooperators in Lubumbashi, Congo recently held a meeting aimed at helping women in the military and in politics to communicate effectively, esteem their professions and act as role models for society.

The encounter took as its point of departure society’s image of women in the military, who are often seen as underachievers or else as persons who did not receive proper training within their family circles.

The guest speakers underscored how erroneous this belief is and emphasized that women in the military and also women politicians are equal in dignity to women in other careers. Participants in the meeting included politicians, military personnel and journalists.
