Rashtriya Gaurav Award to Sr Pauline Chakkalakal

The India International Friendship Society, a leading Indian NGO, has conferred on Sr Pauline Chakkalakal, of the Daughters of St Paul, the prestigious Rashtriya Gaurav Award, in recognition of her achievements and contributions.

The award was presented along with a Certificate of Excellence.

Sr Pauline Chakkalakal is a founding member of the inter-religious programme Celebrating Unity in Diversity in Bandra Mumbai, which for the past 27 years has brought together people from all religions and walks of life.

Through her writings and seminars, Sr Pauline Chakkalakal, a doctorate in Biblical Theology and a diploma in Philosophy, Library Science, Journalism and Public Relations – enthusiastically and actively expresses her thoughts and convictions on various social issues, including those related to women and gender.

Sr Pauline is also a member of the Indian Theological Association, the Catholic Bible Association of India, the Society for Biblical Studies in India, the Forum of Indian Women Theologians, Satyashodhak (discernment), a Mumbai-based Feminist Group, the Asian Women’s Resource Centre for Culture and Theology, and Ecclesia of Women in Asia.
