The sisters of our Belém book center in the State of Pará recently organized an event to celebrate the evangelization apostolate being carried out by their lay employees. They tell us that members of the book center staff all dedicate themselves to the cause of the Gospel with great responsibility and apostolic zeal, and that this commitment was celebrated in a special Eucharistic Liturgy followed by a festive social gathering.
Special recognition was given to three employees–Jorge Alex Padilla, Padova Gonçalves Oliveira and Leonir Delcanale–for their proclamation of the Gospel through the Pauline apostolate for 25, 20 and 15 years respectively. Our sisters say that the testimonies of these collaborators give them strength, hope and courage for the future:
Jorge Alex Padilla: “What has motivated and sustained me over the past 25 years is the chance to work in a place in which the most important values of life are respected. This has given my life joy and fullness. Every day is a ‘favorable day’ for giving the Gospel to the people who come into this center of evangelization.”
Padova Gonçalves Oliveira: I am happy to be a part of the Pauline Family. I thank God for the 20 years I have devoted to the mission of evangelization through the mass media. Every day I renew my resolution to communicate Jesus Master to everyone who comes to us in search of meaning in life.”
