Every two years, the Brazilian National Episcopal Conference sets up a Pastoral Commission for Communications to bestow awards for the best productions in the film, TV, press and radio categories. The purpose of the award in the film category is to underscore the importance of national films that are rich in human, ethical and Christian values.
The film Risvegliarsi per sognare (Wake Up so as To Dream), directed by Osmar Koxne and produced by the FSP Pauline Multimedia Institute in collaboration with the SSP Institute for Vocations, received this year’s Margarida d’Argento Award. The film, which recounts the story of three young people searching for meaning in life, encourages contemporary youth to embark on the missionary life as part of the evangelizing mission of the Church. In an imaginative and symbolic way, the film reveals that a sense of mission is born and develops in community.
For the FSP Multimedia Institute, the award is an incentive to redouble their commitment to communicating the joy of the Gospel, using images and sound to promote life and Christian values.
