On 19 November, two FSP publications were awarded the Res Magnae Literary Prize, which gives special recognition to “high quality books that reflect the spirit of the times.” Awarded were José Tolentino Mendonça, for his book The Mysticism of the Moment, published by the FSPs of Portugal and Italy; Daniele Biella, author of Nawal, l’angelo dei profughi (Nawal: the Angel of the Refugees), published by FSP Editions Italy, and Giampaolo Trevisi for his work Fogli di via, published by Editrice Missionaria Italiana (EMI). The event concluded with a traditional book-signing by the three authors.

A sizeable crowd gathered at the imposing Res Magnae headquarters in Palazzo Altieri, Rome, to participate in the ceremony, which this year focused on the theme of humanity. As a spokesperson for the Res Magnae Association specified: the prize “promotes works that reaffirm the centrality of the human being in his/her moral, material and spiritual identity.”
