The presentation of the book Thoughts of life. Listening to creation (Pauline edition) by Luciano Mazzocchi, priest and founder of the Association “Gospel and Zen”, took place last Sunday, March 22, in the basilica of St. Charles in Milan. It was early in the afternoon, an unusual time for the basilica but the place was filled with people eager to welcome the message that would be offered them. The occasion was graced by the participation of the writer Susanna Tamaro and of the theologian Vito Mancuso.

In the text we are encouraged to rediscover nature that surrounds us in the course of the four seasons, and are made participants of the childhood of the author or of his mission in Japan: all with a reference to the ongoing search for a deeper meaning, where Gospel and Zen, poetry and faith are integrated in a simple and fascinating story. And this is what the two speakers have communicated.

In conclusion, Joseph Siniscalchi, painter of the picture of the cover – which was exhibited in the basilica – presented with enthusiasm the poetry and the philosophy behind his painting.
