This past May, during an encounter held at the Catholic University of Lisbon, the FSPs of Portugal launched their most recent publication, a book entitled, Pope Francis. The text consists of a collection of interviews given by Jorge Bergolio over a period of three years to reporters Sergio Rubin and Francesca Ambrogetti while he was still the Archbishop of Buenos Aires. The Pope’s simple and inspiring way of speaking about his family’s arrival in Argentina in 1929 and some of the subsequent events that served to shape his life offer readers a fascinating glimpse of his personality.

The book has already become a hit with the Portuguese media, which are divulgating it to an even vaster public through the Internet, radio and television. Delighted with this opportunity to offer many people the new Pope’s powerful message of hope, our sisters say they want to continue to serve the Church of Portugal through their commitment to evangelization, in line with the new prospects and doors that are opening thanks to Pope Francis.
