From 27-28 October 2016, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi was in Reggio Calabria, participating in a Congress organized by the Mediterranean University of Studies on the theme: The Environment and Food Ecology: St. Francis of Paola, Between the Present and the Future. The event, which was held to celebrate the 6th centenary of the saint’s birth, included a presentation of the new book by Reggio Calabria’s Archbishop, Giuseppe Fiorini Morosini, ofm, entitled Cucina di strettissimo magro (Very Lean Cooking).
At the end of the Congress, following the celebration of the Eucharist in the Cathedral, Cardinal Ravasi visited the local FSP book center, taking time to chat with the sisters and their clients. His visit was a sign of the Church’s recognition of the attentive and generous service provided by the Daughters of St. Paul to the Reggio Calabria region.
