From 3-5 July 2012, the Daughters of St. Paul of Japan held a formation meeting for the lay personnel who work in their central diffusion office in Tokyo and in the Pauline book centers of Sendai, Nagoya and Yamaguchi. The primary purpose of the encounter was to present the Congregation to our collaborators through a deeper look at our Pauline history, spirituality and mission, with a special focus on the mission of the laity.

Sr. Giovanna Mishima, fsp, and Fr. Augustino Suzuki, ssp, gave very enlightening talks on the Pauline charism, and afterward the group watched two documentaries, Thecla and In the Far East, the latter of which describes the first years of the FSPs in Japan.

The encounter concluded with a sharing of ideas and experiences in a spirit of profound communion that fortified our collaborators’ sense of belonging to the Institute.
