“Humanity is like a great river flowing into eternity: will it be saved?” This was the question that tormented Fr. Alberione–a question that every Daughter of St. Paul continues to carry in her heart today. In every place and every situation in which they encounter people, their presence is like a beam of light, guiding others to the Gospel.
The FSPs of Portugal have chosen book fairs and exhibits as ideal occasions for evangelization. They have been participating in the country’s annual book fairs in Porto since 1970, in Faro since 1972, in Funchal since 1974 and in Lisbon since 1998. They also participate in many summer book fairs held in vacation and resort spots, and hold book displays in schools, parishes and meetings for pastoral and catechetical workers.
They say that these chances to come in direct contact with the people and hear about their problems, families and work situations enrich their religious life, expand their hearts and help them keep in step with the times.
