The Visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines was not only a moment of grace for the country but a manifestation of the beauty, grandeur and joy of the faith for the entire world.

The Daughters of St. Paul were involved in different activities for this great event:

– as members of the Committee on Media and Information;
– helping with the planning, creation, editing and research for the official website of the papal visit (www.papalvisit.ph);
– as part of the choir that sang for different venues, particularly the Manila Cathedral;
– as media coordinators for Villamor Airbase during the arrival and departure ceremonies, and for the encounter with families at the Mall of Asia Arena;
– with translation work and interviews;
– as part of a “human barricade” on the papal route, during which they led the people in prayer while waiting for the Pope to pass by;
– in the publication of the liturgical booklet Tu Es Petrus, which contained the music pieces used by the 1000-member choir for the celebrations during the entire apostolic visit.
In addition to the Daughters of St. Paul, the Society of St. Paul and the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master were also were actively involved in various aspects of the papal visit. We are sure that Primo Maestro must have been very happy to see his sons and daughters working together to assist the Holy Father in proclaiming the Good News that saves.
Our sisters tell us that it was a great privilege for them to have contributed to this momentous event in the history of the Church in the Philippines through our Pauline mission and we join them in praising and thanking the Lord for this very big grace.
