About 10,000 people flocked to Rome from all over the world to participate in the Jubilee for Choirs and Liturgical Animators, which took place from 21-23 October 2016. The event opened with an educational conference on the theme, Sing Mercy, the purpose of which was to emphasize how music is a powerful tool of communication and how to live the Liturgy as the high point of expression of the Christian Faith and culture.

The Daughters of St. Paul, who have always been in the forefront of Liturgical music production, collaborated with this even by means of a small formation project entitled, Liturgically Speaking. For the past two months, the Institute’s international web site (www.paoline.it) aired a short video program in preparation for the Jubilee. It featured expert input concerning liturgical animators in dioceses and parishes, polyphonic music in the Liturgy, the figure of the choir director, the choice of songs, etc. The positive results of this mini-formation project has prompted our sisters to continue investigating ways to form liturgical animators.
