“It’s an independent, international Film Festival, whose purpose is to use the cinema as a powerful instrument of evangelization.” Thus says Liana Marabini, foundress of the Mirabile Dictu International Catholic Film Festival, which this year was held in the Via Conciliazione.

Auditorium, Rome, from 24-26 June 2013. This year’s event was dedicated to Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint (declared Venerable by Pius XII in 1943, beatified by John Paul II in 1980, and canonized by Benedict XVI on 21 October 2012). The latest confirmation of the popularity of this new saint was the fact that the film on her life entitled, In Her Footsteps: The Story of Kateri Tekakwitha, by Matt Gallagher, won the Best Film award during the Festival.
