The FSP Multimedia Center, Rome recently presented one of the Italian Province’s newest publications: “Encounter with the Unexpected: The Christian Life for Perplexed People,” by Giuseppe Forlai. The presentation, which was guided by Monia Parente from Vatican Radio, was enlivened by the vivacious participation of the author and by a reading of some passages of the text by Graziella Bonanni.

The book speaks about God in a very original and profound way, using fresh and winning language to answer the questions of many of those who attended the presentation. “Encounter with the Unexpected” springs from the author’s personal experience as a priest of the Diocese of Rome, Professor of Mariology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and above all from his work as a prison chaplain, which brings him in continual contact with persons who have a hard time believing in God or who do not believe in him at all.

A brief quote from the text: “God you are not to be found in my ideas about you or in my small personal world made up of exhausting work and superficial joys. You are not to be found in the places to which we relegate you.”
