In the Footsteps of Those Who Witnessed to the Faith: this was the theme of the pilgrimage a group of German young women recently made to Prague, accompanied by two Daughters of St. Paul.

Their journey of faith began in Piazza Vecchia (the Old Plaza), located in the city’s historic center, which is also the site of a Marian pillar erected by the citizens in 1650. The pilgrims then visited Our Lady of the Snows Church, where they venerated the relics of the Blessed Martyrs of Prague, and from there moved on to the Franciscan convent to visit its historic library. (Our FSP Book Center is located on the ground floor of this edifice.)

Afterward, they headed for Wenceslaus Plaza, named after a martyr who witnessed to forgiveness and fraternal charity. At Charles Bridge, the group paused to remember St. John Nepomucene, whose fidelity to the Church earned him a martyr’s death.

The pilgrimage would not have been complete without a visit to the Infant of Prague Shrine and that of St. Agnes of Bohemia, a saint who always gave first place to Christ. The whole experience of faith ended with a time of celebration, sharing and evaluation.
