On February 15, 2026, the Daughters of St. Paul in Nairobi opened the Jubilee Year marking their 50 year presence in Kenya. Their foundation dates back to February 15, 1976, when the first Sisters arrived in the country and were entrusted by the Servant of God, Cardinal Maurice Otunga, to manage the diocesan Catholic bookstore. From those simple beginnings, a vibrant center of evangelization and media mission was born in Africa and beyond.

The Eucharistic celebration for this golden Jubilee brought together clergy, religious, laity, Pauline communities, Cooperators, and collaborators to give thanks to God for fifty years of proclaiming the Gospel through the media.

The Mass was presided over by His Excellency Most Rev. Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo, Archbishop of Nairobi, who recalled how the Jubilee is both a grateful remembrance and a renewed missionary commitment, founded on prayer, community life, and the charism of Blessed James Alberione.

Most Rev. Vincent Ouma Odundo, Bishop-elect of Kisumu, in his homily for this occasion, emphasized the spiritual impact of the Pauline Sisters and defined the Jubilee as a time of grace, renewal, and hope. He expressed the Catholic Church of Kenya’s gratitude for the fruits of the Pauline charism, visible in those lives touched by the books, media, and a personal encounter with Christ. He encouraged the sisters to continue their mission with creativity, especially reaching out to the new generations.
