A billion people use Facebook at least once a month. The news was announced by Mark Zuckerberg, one of the co-founders of the social networking site, who said the number was unprecedented. With the diffusion of smartphones, Facebook has become the most utilized application on the planet.
In fact, 600 million people throughout the world access Facebook by cell phone. Every day, more than 300 million pictures are uploaded on the website and more than 235 million people use the platform’s games each month.
“Facebook”, says Zuckerberg, “means many different things to many different people-a billion different people. It’s easy to feel isolated. It’s easy to feel alone. Perhaps the reason Facebook is so popular is because it reminds us that we are not alone.”
