Death of Arturo Paoli, Apostle of the Poor

Fr. Arturo Paoli, a priest and Little Brother of the Gospel, died at the age of 102 in rectory of St. Martin Parish in Vignale (Lucca), Italy, where he lived. The news was made public in a statement by Italo Castellani, the Archbishop of Lucca, who said he thanked the Lord for Fr. Arturo, “an extraordinary gift to the Church in his many long years of ministry in Italy and abroad, especially in favor of the poorest.” The Archbishop expressed his closeness to the Little Brothers of the Gospel in the Lucca diocese and all those who grieve on a human level for the loss of Fr. Arturo, while at the same time clinging firmly to faith in the in the resurrection.
