Writing an email and navigating the Internet can become child’s play even for elderly people. This is one of the objectives of the free course in digital formation now being offered to Italian senior citizens.

The project, launched by Italy’s Federation for the Elderly, hopes to contribute helping the country’s more than 100,000 citizens in the 70+ age bracket become “digitally literate.” The formation courses, guided by young teachers, are currently being held in almost 3 thousand Italian municipalities and it is hoped that they will eventually reach all parts of the country.

The project is important not only because it provides senior citizens with computer skills but also because it helps everyone rediscover the elderly as the source, root and essence of wisdom.
