Our sisters of Mozambique celebrated the Centenary of the Pauline Family in a simple and beautiful way on 24 August 2014 in Our Lady of Victory Parish, Maputo. Representatives of all the Institutes of the PF at work in the country were present for the Eucharistic Liturgy, which was presided over by Bishop Emeritus Francis Chimoio of Maputo, and Bishop Emeritus Januario Machaze Nhangumbe of Pemba, along with the pastor of Our Lady of Victory parish and his two assistants.

The members of the parish participated in the Liturgy wholeheartedly, as is the custom with the African people, who celebrate their faith enthusiastically in spite of the adversities of life. During the entrance procession, the mission of the Pauline Family to spread the light of Christ throughout the world was underscored by a ten-flamed lamp that was carried to the altar. At the Offertory, each Institute of the PF briefly presented its particular service in the Church.

In his homily, Bishop Chimoio touched on the most important moments in which God acted in the life of Blessed James Alberione and in the Pauline Family over the past 100 years. He then invited all the Institutes of the PF to renew their commitment to living the Pauline charism as a call to holiness and apostolate. He concluded by thanking the Lord in a special way for the gift of Mozambican vocations to the PF, who continue to sow the seeds of the Pauline charism in Africa.
