The 960 members of the International Union of Women Superiors General (UISG) met in Rome from 11-13 May to pool their pastoral experiences with regard to refugees, prisoners, the treatment of women, orphans, schools, and various initiatives for peace and ecology. The sisters explained what their Congregations are doing in these areas and renewed their commitment to implementing initiatives on the religious and humanitarian levels so as to help improve the situation of the contemporary world.
The FSP International Multimedia Center, located just outside St. Peter’s Square, collaborated with this event by means of a display of suitable material on the religious life and the problems and challenges facing it. The participants were delighted to find so many books in different languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German) and eagerly selected material that would help them keep updated in their ministries.
