From March 12-14, in Oradea, Romania, the participants of a National Meeting for Catholic Media Professionals developed and presented a Decalogue for online communication in an Ecclesial context. Through this document, media professionals invited the clergy, as well as lay and consecrated persons engaged in various ecclesial settings, to promote responsible, constructive, and truthful online communication.

The Decalogue also called for prudence and respect in the treatment of images of vulnerable people and encouraged conscious and discerning use of artificial intelligence. During the meeting, participants reflected on the theme “Safeguarding Human Voices and Faces,” proposed by Pope Leo for the 60th World Day of Communication.

In this framework, the Church in Romania reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible and professional communication, faithful to Christian values that are oriented towards the service of truth, the dignity of the human person, and communion among all people.
